Microsurgery

Microsurgery is a kind of surgery that is used to operate on very small structures such as the nerves and arteries of the hand and wrist.

Using a microscope and miniaturized instruments in an outpatient procedure with, in most cases, regional anesthesia, the surgeon is able to repair cut, scarred and compressed nerves and arteries as well as remove scar tissue from around tendons, bones and joints.

Sometimes tissues are moved from one part of the body to the microsurgical site to enhance sensation and movement.
