Jersey Finger

Jersey Finger is the colloquial term for a tendon tear—usually in the ring finger—that results in pain, swelling and an inability to bend the fingertip.

Common among football and rugby players who often tear tendons by getting fingers caught in an opponent’s jersey, this condition is normally treated surgically by reattaching the torn tendon.

Rapid treatment is necessary in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
