Fasciectomy

Partial palmar faciectomy is the outpatient surgical procedure to remove the deforming cords and nodules found in Dupuytren’s Contracture. Substantial improvement is generally attained, and it is the standard to which the newer forms of treatment are compared. Open partial fasciectomy has the advantage of complete visualization of nerves, arteries, and cords. Removal of the tight bands usually results in greater extension of the metacarpal and interphalangeal joints.
